We recognize that a proper groundwork will serve well the Students who desires to pursue higher theological studies, and a comprehensive and matured understanding of the Scripture with its theological truths is required and a requisite for a Christian Minister to be effective in the area of service to people.

Therefore, the Institute aims to equip with a thorough and solid foundational training in all major fields of Bible knowledge and Theology through its offered Degree Program. It also acknowledges that Academic Degrees, Diplomas, or Certificates are by-products of disciplined Courses of study and not ends in themselves, and that they are given to indicate the extent and level of such studies achieved by the bearer as he/she reflects the academic integrity of the Institution. HILT corresponds to this fact by attempting to carry out its Motto, Vision, Aims and Objectives. In an effort to carry these out, the Institute offers various Programs for both Residential and Distance as below:

I. Residential Programs: (ATA Accredited)

1). Certificate of Theology (C.Th.)

♦ Eligibility: Matriculate (Class-X Passed).

♦ Duration: 12-15 Months (36 Credits; 1440 Hours; 12-15 Months Full-Time).

2) Diploma in Theology (Dip.Th.)

♦ Eligibility: Matriculate (Class-X Passed) from Recognized Board.

♦ Duration: 2 Years (72 Credits; 2880 Hours; 2 Years Full-Time).

3) Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.)

♦ Eligibility: 10+2 Passed from Recognized Board; or Dip.Th. from ATA/SS.

♦ Duration: 3-4 Years (120 Credits; 4800 Hours; 3-4 Years Full-Time).

II. Distance Programs: [Offered in collaboration with GSOL (SABC, ATA), Bangalore]

1) Master of Divinity (M.Div.)

♦ Eligibility: B.Th. (ATA) / Any Bachelor Degree.

2) Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.)

♦ Eligibility: 10+2 Passed from Recognized Board; or Dip.Th. from ATA/SS.

The Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) Program is currently the main Residential Program of HILT, while a Graduate Level Residential studies leading to Master of Divinity (M.Div.) Degree Program is envisaged for soon introduction.

Purpose of our B.Th. Program:

Our three-four years Bachelor of Theology Degree Program is intended to be a meticulous blending of academic and spiritual exploration tailored for those sensing a divine call to Pastoral Ministry amidst the multifaceted cultural milieu of the Himalayan Region, Southern Asia.

Our Curriculum harmoniously weaves theological, historical, biblical, practical, and contextual components, ensuring that students are anchored and comprehensively versed in biblical truths, practically trained for real-world Ministry challenges, and contextually attuned to the unique socio-religious dynamics of India. We envision that this present Program of our Institute will provide a proper foundation in the knowledge of the Bible, Theology, Church History, Practical Theology and Mission.

Our Course pedagogical framework stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to holistic ministerial preparation in that, every Semester is intentionally designed to sequentially build a student’s proficiency, beginning with foundational studies, advancing through in-depth theological and biblical investigations, and culminating in a refined grasp of both ancient prophetic literature and contemporary pastoral necessities.

Enrollment Policy to our B.Th. Program:

We prescribe completion of a Higher Secondary School Course or Secondary School Examination as a basic requirement for enrollment to our 3 years Curriculum leading to the Degree Program of Bachelor of Theology. Whereas, Applicants passing Matriculation Examination or its equivalent Examination with eligibility to Institute’s Courses may be enroll to our 4 Years Curriculum or to our 2 Years Curriculum of Diploma in Theology Degree Program.

Academic Year:

Our Academic Year begins in the 3rd & 4th Week of June and ends by 3rd Week of March the following Year. At HILT, we follow a Semester system, consisting of Two Semesters in a Year. The First-Semester which consists of over 17 Weeks Semester approximate (i.e., June 3rd/4th Week — October 3rd/4th Week) is followed by the Second-Semester which consists of over 17 Weeks Semester approximate (i.e., November 1st Week – March 3rd Week). Each Semester culminates with Final Examination after descriptive and reflective model.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP):

We expect all the Students of HILT to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress toward completion of a Certificate or a Degree within the allotted period of time. The Student's Satisfactory Academic Progress status is determine at the end of each Semester. The measure of Satisfactory Academic Progress is based on the number of Hours the Student attempts and the Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 which scores 74-76 Numeric Grade as indicated in the Chart above. To maintain SAP record at HILT, a Student is required to earn at least a minimum of 2.0 GPA. Students who are not meeting SAP requirements are reviewed at the end of each Semester, and if they do not earn a Semester GPA minimum of 2.0 which accounts 60-66 numeric points are denied promotion for the following Semester.

Transfer Credits:

In order for a Student to receive Credits from other Institutions, the Student must request Transcripts from each College or Institution previously attended. Official Transcripts from these Institutions must be sent directly to our Office of Admission. Courses limiting of 10 (ten) Credit Hours taken at another Institution can be transfer to HILT with the approval of the Academic Dean. However, Courses that are not in HILT Curriculum will not be transferred, and any Courses transferred from HILT to other Schools cannot be re-credited under any circumstance.
