ADMISSION POLICY
At HILT, we admit Students without regard to race, color, gender, and national or ethnic origin. While free discussion of beliefs and ideas is endorsed, we encourage our Staff, Faculty Members, and Students to respect the conviction of one another and not to engage in any form of coercive behavior.
To be enrolled to our 3 Years Curriculum leading to the Bachelor of Theology Program at HILT, we prescribe completion of a Higher Secondary School Course or Secondary School Examination as a basic requirement. Whereas, Applicants passing Matriculation Examination or its equivalent Examination with eligibility to Institute’s Courses may be enroll to our 4 years Curriculum or to our 2 years Curriculum of Diploma in Theology Degree Program.
Applicant seeking to enroll at HILT for the Bachelor Degree Program may keenly note the followings:
1). First-time Students
Applicants seeking Admission to a degree program at HILT are required to have at least a High School education, substantiated by an Official Transcript.
2). New Student Registration
Registration at HILT is closed One Week before Classes begin each Semester. All new students will need to make sure all required paperwork is submitted One Week prior to the start of the Semester.
3). Transfer Students
HILT accepts students from other Colleges with similar Admission Requirements and Academic Credits. To be admitted with Transfer Credits, HILT requires that the Student must meet the following standards:
(i) The student must be in good standing (no previous expulsions) with the Colleges last attended.
(ii) The student must have Official Transcript(s) from all Schools previously attended sent to the Academic Office of HILT.
(iii) The student must have a Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) percentage of 65 percent from previous College experience.
(iv) The transferring student is accepted on a conditional basis until Transcripts and all other required Documents are received. If Transcripts and Documents are not received by the end of the drop/add period, the student will be removed from the Course Roster.
(v) The transferring student must complete at least a minimum of 36 Credits at HILT to earn a Bachelor’s Degree.
(vi) Courses limiting of 10 (ten) Credit Hours taken at another Institution can be transfer to HILT with the approval of the Academic Dean in consultation with the Academic Committee.
(vii) Courses that are not in HILT Curriculum however will not be transferred, and any Courses transferred from HILT to other Colleges or Seminaries cannot be re-credited under any circumstance.
4). Admission Procedure
The Admission Committee of HILT complies with certain procedures for admitting an Applicant to candidacy for thorough pursuit of the Degree Program applied. Such procedures include reviewing of each Application for notification of the action. Applicants are reviewed on the basis of their past academic record, Christian Testimony and the extent of commitment for thorough course of study at HILT, commitment for Christian service afterwards, recommendation of their References, success in the written Entrance Exam and Personal Interview.
5). Admission Philosophy
HILT accepts and admits Applicants of any gender, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available at the Institute. In determining Admission, priority is given to the Applicant’s past Academic Program and Grades, tested abilities, personality traits, and Christian commitment for the Service of God.
6). Admission Standards
At HILT, admitting of applicants to candidacy for the Degree Program may be made precise to Applicants who profess a testimony of faith and personal salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ, showing a sincere desire to go through a thorough Course of studies and ministerial training, and having dedicated to the ideals of the Institution including the norms and standards of the Institution.
A student at HILT is expected to not only achieve the minimum Academic requirement but must also exhibit Christian commitment, growth and maturity in order to earn the Degree. Applicants may therefore keenly note the following standards of Admission Policy of the College:
6.1. Entrance Exam
Applicants who have satisfactorily completed the Admission Procedure will have to be present in person for the Entrance Exam on the announced Date. The Applicant’s proficiency of English Language, General Knowledge, and Bible Survey will be tested in the Exam.
6.2. Christian Character
It is expected of every Applicants to HILT for Admission that, testimony of personal faith and salvation in the Lord is testified, and that this testimony be accompanied by being part of a Local Church where he/she is in active fellowship, followed by willingness to live in submission to the Will of God as manifested in obedience to the Word of God and total commitment to go through the process of rigorous training at the Institute.
6.3. Prior Learning Assessment Plan
HILT recognizes that many Applicants seeking Admission may have experience through life and work consistent with some particular Course objectives and such experiences should be considered concerning the student’s educational goal. In recognition of this reality, HILT has initiated a program for granting College Credit for life experiences and work that can be validated by a prior learning assessment portfolio.
